Children are precious treasures to us at Prince of Peace. We love our kids. During the school year we have Sunday School nearly every week. Children will spend time singing together, learning about missions, learning the Scripture in their classes, and serving others through trips to the Knife River Care Center and doing mission projects. We have occasionally offered special classes for girls about purity and modesty called “Daughters of the King!” In the summer time, our favorite children’s activity is VBS. We bring in a talented team of teenagers from the Association Free Lutheran Bible School, deck out the church in decorations, and have a blast learning about Jesus!
There are many different ways for your students to get involved with the ministries here at Prince of Peace. Our Youth ministry activities range in ages from 5th grade students through Seniors in High school and beyond. Join us as we are Exposed to the truths of God’s Word, Equipped to carry the message of Jesus to the world, Encouraged to live large in faith and Encounter others with the Gospel of Truth.
Women's Missionary Federation
Prince of Peace has an active Women’s Missionary Federation that is involved in many various activities and ministries within the church and our denomination. We support all of the AFLC missionaries and missionaries through other organizations. Our group is comprised of every woman member at Prince of Peace so don’t be bashful about joining in!
The men at Prince of Peace stay active throughout the year with a variety of activities. During the school year, there is a monthly Bible Study/breakfast at 7:oo am every 3rd Saturday of the month during the school year. We have several men’s small groups that meet at a variety of times and places so there is a spot for everyone. We also have a yearly Men’s retreat with other groups from around our district.
Prince of Peace has an active Puppet Ministry called “Puppets of Praise”. Besides having a skit and song every third Sunday at church, Puppets of Praise has also performed at Riverside Park, other local churches, and other community events. Call the church office if you are interested in scheduling a delightful show for your venue.
Not only do we have these ministries at Prince of Peace, we have others that just don’t quite fit into these categories. For example, we pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child and pack meals for the Feed My Starving Children mobile pack program every August. We participate in several service/mission/outreach events each year; including the largest baby shower for the FirstChoice Clinic West in Bismarck. We sponsor two annual Spiritual Life meeting series aimed at challenging and encouraging us in our spiritual development. We have a weekly radio ministry on KDKT 1410 AM at 11:30 in the morning for those who can’t make it to our weekly services. And finally, we have a pretty extensive church library that offers selections in dvd’s, vhs, audio tapes, cd’s, fiction, non-fiction, and study materials.
Prince of peace is home to some very gifted women. Our quilting group, Threads of Love, meets regularly to sew and share. Some of the projects they have recently taken on are: making quilts for each of the graduates, making quilts for our various missions teams (Haiti, Ecuador, and Alaska), making quilts for visiting missionaries and guests, and making quilts to bless others in need.
Prince of peace hosts a free Community Meal the 2nd Saturday of every month from 11am to 1pm. This meal is for everyone – those with finanacial need, spiritual need, or just a great time for fellowship with others over some steaming hot home made meals.
